Email spammers have harvested our email addresses and are spoofing these to send out Viagra and other mass email advertisements. These are NOT authorized by ACMA but we have been told there is nothing we can do about it because the perpetrators are located outside the USA.
ACMA never rents or sells its email addresses!
Any email sent by ACMA personnel concerns only catalog industry issues. We send periodic updates, briefs and technical bulletins to ACMA members and the general industry.
If you "opt out" of ACMA emails (which have a distinctive footer and out logo at top), you will be opting out of all communications from ACMA. If you would like to selectively customize the email you receive, please contact us.
Our IT advisors advise NOT to respond to SPAM email or use the "opt out" at the bottom of the spam email as this only validates to the spammer that they have received a live email address they will sell to other spammers. All ACMA emails have catalog industry jargon in the "Subject" line. You can delete any email from catalogmailers.org that does not contain an industry-appropriate text in the Subject line without opening the email.
