Prospective Member Briefing |
What:
- The ACMA provides Members with early notice of industry developments and offers greater visibility for catalogers interests in Washington.
Why:
- Before ACMA was founded, the catalog industry did not have adequate representation. Our industry's lack of presence at the decision-making table has made Postal Policy a zero sum game for catalogers. Today, because of the ACMA, policy, rules and rates are no longer set without involvement of catalogers.
- Though other mail-focused associations exist, the ACMA exclusively caters to the unique needs of catalog companies and suppliers. We truly understand the countless commercial and social benefits catalogs bring to consumers, and we take great pride in being the primary voice for the industry.
How:
- The leadership at the ACMA is composed of veterans in the world of business with vast experience in Postal regulations and influence with policy makers in Washington.
- By advocating before the US Postal Service, the Postal Regulatory Commission, the US Congress and related agencies.
Who:
- The ACMA Membership is comprised of B2C, B2B and B2G catalogers, their key suppliers, industry consultants and thought-leaders.
Results:
- The ACMA provides Members with early notice of industry developments and offers greater visibility for catalogers interests in Washington.
- ACMA Members have generated a 6x return on their investment in two years.
- Because of the ACMA, the USPS has modified a variety of regulations on programs to better accommodate catalogs, such as Address Placement Location, Intelligent Mail Barcode, and Summer Sale Parameters.
- Without ACMA's advocacy, catalogers would have had higher rate hikes in 2008 and 2009.
Cost:
- An ACMA Membership is very affordable. Dues are roughly one-fourth of 1% of your annual catalog postage expense to a maximum of $30,000.
- Volunteer leadership and periodic support from your company's senior executives.
Future:
- While we've successfully navigated many challenges for the industry, we are now focused on a major battle – a proposal by the Postal Regulatory Commission to increase rates by a massive 22 percent – obviously a potentially devastating blow to our industry.
- Based on our solid record of success here in Washington, we have a good chance of beating this proposal, but we need your help to do it. That means becoming a member of the ACMA.
- We encourage you to look at our website and learn more about ACMA and the value of our membership.
